Brougham Primary

Celebrating a Year of Inclusion, Togetherness and Community Spirit
                at Brougham Primary

As we reflect on this school year, we are fi lled with gratitude and pride in everything our school community has

                achieved together.
At the very start of the year, we welcomed back our youngest pupils to our beautifully refurbished Nursery and
Preschool following the devastating fi re. This moment marked not just the reopening of a space, but a symbol
of resilience. The support from families, staff, and the wider community was truly heart-warming. Together, we
showed what it means to be a strong, caring school family.
In the Autumn term, our school buzzed with excitement as we
celebrated our fi rst honey harvest. Our beekeeping programme has
grown into a much-loved initiative that teaches children across year
groups about nature, sustainability, and teamwork. From tending the
hives to bottling the honey, this project reminds us that every member
of our school - like every bee in a hive - plays an important part. The
sweet results show what we can achieve when we work together.
We have also proudly supported Alice House Hospice by joining the ‘Go Purple’ campaign and achieving the
Bright Sparks Gold Award. Pupils rose to the challenge of turning £20 into as much as they could through
creative fundraising activities. These events brought families, staff, and the local community together to support
an incredible cause - showing that small acts of kindness can make a big impact.
In addition, our pupils have also continued to shine beyond the classroom. This year, their artwork, poetry, and
writing have been published in books, magazines, and displayed in galleries. These wonderful achievements not
only celebrate individual talents but also foster a culture of creativity and pride across our school, encouraging
more collaboration and ambition among our pupils and staff.
We were also delighted to receive recognition in our recent Ofsted inspection. Inspectors noted that Brougham is
“at the heart of the local community,” “providing exceptional pastoral care” and is “a truly welcoming school.”

These words reflect the shared vision, dedication, and unity that defi ne our school.
Adding to this great year, Brougham Primary was named among the top 10 schools nationally for
staff wellbeing, a testament to our commitment to nurturing a positive, inclusive environment for all.
When our staff feel supported and valued, our children thrive - and this award recognises the culture we’ve
                built together.
Each achievement—whether big or small- tells a story of togetherness. At Brougham, we believe in celebrating
every success, and always looking out for one another, creating a sense of togetherness.
Thank you to every child, parent, staff member, and friend of Brougham who has contributed to this special year.
